Walter Jerry Payton began playing football at John J. Jefferson High School and achieved instant success as a running back. He was named to the all-conference team two years in a row.

Connie knew him the best and had to step up to discuss the book’s contents. The book included some shocking claims that were kept from the public, and infidelity was a central part.
The book reads that Connie and Walter’s mistress met at his Hall of Fame induction, where she looked the mistress in the eyes and said, “You can have him. He doesn’t want me or the children.”
