Big E, an American former professional wrestler and powerlifter, is focused on his relationship with his girlfriend, Kris Yim.
On December 2, 2024, he reunited in the ring with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to commemorate The New Day’s 10-year anniversary. However, they rejected him down.
Highlights
- Big E’s girlfriend, Kris Yim, is the sister of WWE star Mia Yim, who performs under the ring name Michin on SmackDown.
- They announced their relationship in a fun and heartfelt Instagram post on April 14, 2024.
- Kofi and Xavier were angry with him because he chose a new girlfriend, a new desk job, and a new life over them.
Ettore Ewen signed with WWE and performed under the ring name Big E. He suffered a cervical fracture of the spine in April 2022 and only appears in non-wrestling capacities.
He began wrestling at Tampa Preparatory School, winning several athletic honors, including a state championship.
Big E pursued a professional wrestling career after ending his dream of becoming a professional footballer. In 2009, he signed a developmental contract with WWE.
Although he was a wrestling fan growing up, he never thought wrestling was something he could do for a living. On December 17, 2009, he was assigned to FCW, which was rebranded into NXT.
He became the first African-American competitor to hold the Money in the Bank contract, which he cashed and won the WWE Championship for the first time, pining Bobby Lashley.
Kris Yim’s Sister, Mia Yim, Was Happiest To See Big E Announced Their Relationship Public
Although it’s unclear when Big E began his relationship with Kris Yim, they look delighted. Their social media hinted that the love birds started seeing each other in early 2024.
Kris Yim is a makeup artist and social media influencer. She is the sister of fellow WWE star Mia Yim, who performs under the ring name Michin on the SmackDown brand.
Big E announced that he is dating Kris via an Instagram post on April 14, 2024, in which Mia expressed her happiness that they had become public officials.
Mia’s husband, Keith Lee, commented, “This caption broke me.” Netizens believed they were seeing earlier as their close family and friends already knew about their relationship.
Kris has been a significant source of inspiration for Big E. She has supported him as he recovers from a neck injury that kept him out of the ring for over two years.
Despite several relationship challenges, the love birds share their happiness and love on social media, posting pictures showcasing their relationship journey.
Nonetheless, Big E has previously dated Natalya’s sister, Jenni, as a part of a Total Divas storyline.
Big E Wrestling Career Ended In 2022
Big E returned to SmackDown in late January 2022, reuniting with his former partner Kofi Kingston. They had a match against Ridge Holland and Sheamus on March 11, which ended his action career.
During a match, Holland delivered an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Big E that resulted in him accidentally landing on the top of his head, suffering fractures to his C1 and C6 vertebrae.
Big E didn’t have a ligament or spinal cord injury, which kept him away from the surgery. He mentioned in an interview that it is unclear if he will ever be able to wrestle again.
Later, he served as a host, guest, or panelist on various WWE shows following his recovery.
Furthermore, he revealed that despite having no nerve damage or strength issues, doctors advised him never to wrestle again.
The WWE superstar has been out from the action with a broken neck for over two years, but recent scans have shown he is healing but not enough to return to the ring.
He started his career at 23 but ended his action career at 36.
It's over.

However, they responded with anger as he had left them for all this time and didn’t come back from his broken neck like so many others before him.
They mentioned, “he chose his new girlfriend, his new desk job, his new life over them.”
