He thought of leaving the NFL and utilizing his business development degree, working 9 to 5. Luckily, it didn’t happen; he is still on the field.
Raheem’s initial career started off tiring. He went from one team to another, which questioned his ability to play football at a high level.
His family members offered him support and told him to follow his dreams, even if his dream was only to play. They convinced him to stay on the track in 2015.
Devon had also saved his career back at Purdue University when his half-brother was shot at New Smyrna Beach.
She had heard the tragic news at first while Raheem was returning from his National Track & Field Championships.
So, she called his university coach and asked him to keep him there for a while to prevent him from losing control due to the news.
Fortunately, his brother was fine and talked with him the same day. His half-brother said not to worry about him.
Raheem’s childhood was entire of violence and instability. He never knew his biological father, and his mother, Michelle Beckwith, tried her best to raise him well.
The gang invaded their home, and he saw his mother getting shot during the invasion at the age of 3. Michelle frequently switched apartments to protect her children.
Later, she married Kevin Beckwith, who shot Raheem’s brother four times and turned himself in. He completed eight out of his ten-year prison sentence.
