Demarcus Robinson Refuses Sobriety Test After Speeding at Alarming Rate After Losing Against The Philadelphia Eagles

The Los Angeles Rams have yet to release a statement regarding Demarcus's arrest.

Demarcus Robinson, an American professional football wide receiver for the Los Angeles Rams, is arrested on suspicion of drinking under the influence on Monday Morning.

California Highway Patrol, West Valley Area office, cited him and released him to a responsible party.

Highlights

  • Demarcus Robinson was arrested for refusing a sobriety test on Monday morning, November 25, 2024.
  • Authorities observed signs of alcohol impairment and released him to a responsible party.
  • He was suspended four times, three times for failing marijuana tests and one time for meeting with a marketing official during his college career.

Demarcus Dontavian Robinson played high school football at Peach County High School and joined Florida from 2013 to 2015.

Although he wasn’t regarded as a first—or second-round pick, on December 21, 2015, he announced that he would forgo his senior season and enter the 2016 NFL draft.

Most experts saw his early entries as gambles, but NFL draft experts and scouts projected him as a fifth—to seventh-round draft pick.

Later, the Kansas City Chiefs drafted him in the fourth round, making him the 14th wide receiver selected in 2016. On May 6, 2016, he signed a four-year, $2.85 million contract.

Demarcus won his first championship after his team defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.

On March 22, 2022, he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders but was released on August 16, 2022. Afterward, he joined the Baltimore Ravens on August 23, 2022.

On June 12, 2023, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams and re-signed a one-year deal worth reportedly $5 million on February 23, 2024.

Demarcus Robinson Refused Sobriety Test Led To Arrest

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson refused to perform a field sobriety test on-site, which led to his arrest at 5:13 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024.

Authorities observed signs of alcohol impairment, and he was transported to a police station for further processing. Later, they released him to a responsible party.

Demarcus was pulled over for speeding over 100mph on a Los Angeles freeway shortly after his team lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.

He was driving a white Dodge sedan, and when officers conducted an enforcement stop, he identified himself as a player for the Los Angeles Rams.

The NFL has confirmed the report, but neither Demarcus nor the Rams have commented.

The Rams might release a statement with Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay, who is scheduled to speak with reporters.

Demarcus Robinson, A New Man After Drug Suspensions

Demarcus has been suspended several times since the start of his college career, which was different from how most would like to start their collegiate career.

He was suspended three times for failing marijuana tests as a freshman and a fourth as a junior for meeting with a marketing official in 2015.

Demarcus’s suspension didn’t cause much damage, but it was a sign of things to come shortly. He ended his junior career with two suspensions in one year in Gainesville.

Later, he was suspended for the third time for their season opener against Idaho, which was canceled due to weather.

Moreover, he was suspended about 75 minutes before kickoff against Florida State, which they lost 27-2. Head coach Jim McElwain didn’t address his suspension when speaking to the media postgame.

It’s just a personal choice a guy made. Are you any of you surprised? I mean, really? What’s disappointing is that someone would do that to their teammates, and yet, I’m not mad at him at all. He just made a choice.

Head Coach Jim McElwain

Jim was sure about Demarcus and kept him in his teammate’s hands, letting him decide his future for himself.

Demarcus spent 45 days in drug rehab at the Florida Recovery Center at Shands Hospital to prove to his coach and teammates that he was taking his suspensions seriously.

He admitted he’s a changed man and swears he has been clean since his freshman year.

I knew I had to do something to let my teammates and let my coaches know I wouldn’t do it again. I was doing whatever I had to do to let them know that wasn’t me. What I was doing was selfish and was wrong of me.
I wasn’t really relying on drugs. I just knew I had to prove to my coaches I really wanted to be on the team. I had to take on some consequences for doing the actions that I did and that was one of the consequences — going to rehab.

Demarcus Robinson has expressed.

Furthermore, he prepared for the pros from his uncle, Marcus Robinson, a former NFL wide receiver who played for the Chicago Bears, Ravens, and Minnesota Vikings.
